Professor Blaženka Divjak held a webinar on Learning Analytics and Learning Design as Cornerstones of Evidence-Based Decision-Making in Higher Education, organized by the Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education on 5 June 2025.

In the webinar, Professor Divjak noted that strategic planning and daily decision-making in higher education should be based on solid evidence. The two essential pillars supporting this are sound learning design and learning analytics. This is particularly important the context of today's the complex challenges: the post-pandemic period and expansion of artificial intelligence. Professor Divjak presented the research findings of FOI's Laboratory for Learning Analytics, including the results of the iLed project, focusing on how learning design influences the acquistion of learning outcomes and supports meaningful assessment. She introduced the Balanced Design Planning (BDP) concept and demonstrated tool, which integrates design analytics and an AI-based design assistant to support educators’ decision-making.
